Sangeet Chaiti -

KALAPINI HAS RECEIVED THE COVETED "KESHAVRAO BHOSLE AWARD" BY THE MAHARASHTRA GOVERNMENT, FOR THE CREATIVE SANGEET NATAK PRODUCTION 'CHAITI'.

Sangeet Chaiti is a whole and sole production of Kalapini. Written by Kalapini's own Mr. Sharadrao Joshi & directed by Mr Makarand Joshi, this play has been critically acclaimed all over Pune.

Chaiti - based on novel by Yogini Joglekar, is an innovative Sangeet natak production by Kalapini. Unlike other Sangeet Nataks, the play not only has very innovative & creative classical music recitals, but also enthralls the audience by its dramatic performances coupled by magnificent sets & props.

Its inaugural show was well appreciated at the Sangeet Natak festival organised by Nehru centre Mumbai. Also it was performed in the Ranga Sangeet Mahotsav by Amol Palekar, in Pune (2007), on 4th Jan 2008 at Lalit Kaladarsha Mahotsav in Mumbai & at Bharatnatya Mandir Theatre, Pune on Saturday 23rd February 2008.

It's recent show on Friday 9th May 2008, at Bharat Natya Mandir @ 5.30 PM which was performed in the 18th Vasantik Sangeet Natya Mahotsav by Bharatnatya Sanshodhan Mandir, Pune, was a treat to watch for the houseful audience and Natya Sangeet lovers.
